Our point of contact for international manufacturers of agricultural machinery: Jürgen Roth, a Swabian in the Siegerland region
The latest episode of our podcast welcomes Jürgen Roth to the microphone. He is Key Account Manager for the Off-Highway market, the focus being on agricultural machinery. In this role, he supports national and international customers whose products include harvesters, tractors and agricultural equipment.
Jürgen can look back on an extensive career. Among other things, the graduate mechanical engineer worked in the field of commercial vehicle technology and the automotive supply industry as an applications engineer and sales specialist. Two years ago, he joined Thomas.
He finds the human dimension of his job just as exciting as the technical aspects: the native Swabian actually resides on Lake Constance but organizes his work from our Herdorf base wherever possible. „This is where all the social contacts are. And a lot of things are easier when you can talk across the desk instead of on the phone.“
The industry is in transition, as seen yet again at Agritechnica, the world’s largest agricultural trade fair. Agriculture is becoming increasingly digitalized and automated. And solutions such as the EMA play an integral part in becoming more efficient and productive, as Jürgen Roth explains in the podcast. As a result, the arable land actually available within the agricultural sector can be made sufficiently productive to feed a growing world population.
It’s only natural that Christmas comes up in the conversation as the year gradually draws to a close: Jürgen is particularly looking forward to the festive season, as it’s an opportunity to relax a little and a time for the whole family to get together. Perhaps also because he can return to Lake Constance – with a guarantee of experiencing genuine local fare in the form of pretzels and Maultaschen. And „Hildabrötchen“ – a culinary highlight that is one of his favorite snacks.
